European Car Event

On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of February 2006 the first “EUROPEAN CAR EVENT” will be held in the MECC in MAASTRICHT (Holland).

The organisation wants to present a complete new type of event: a day out for the whole family. A big part of the exhibition will be dedicated to cars and racing cars, but there will also be an indoor fair, a children’s corner, clowns and much more. There is also a 10.000sqm (100m x 100m) indoor arena with shows, attractions and competitions.

On Saturday evening (doors open at 6.30pm) there will be a big spectacle in the race arena with for the first time, the European championship for Indoor Bangers (maximum 20 cars allowed – maximum 1650cc). Concerning Speedway, there will also be races for Camso V8, F1 Stock Cars and wannabe Legends; F2 Stock Cars or a circuit Formula could eventually replace the Legends. Eight of Europe’s best drifters will also compete for the first European Indoor Drift Challenge. Other attractions on the evening show will be the starting of some dragsters, the top 20 tuning cars and eventually a monster truck and a spectacular tractor-pulling demonstratio. Finally, Camso will try to present some of the good old F1 Stock Car boys from Baarlo (NL) in a recent F1 competition.

The indoor track will probably be the biggest and fastest indoor oval ever presented in Europe, Great Britain included, with a total length of 220m (660 feet) and 20m (60 feet) wide. Concrete barriers will protect the spectators.

The number of spectators for the evening event is limited to 4.000

The participation for speedway drivers is on an invitation only basis. Anybody, who wants to participate, can register through CAMSO. A selection will be made based on the number of bookings and the number of cars allowed in the different formulas. (Registration will close on the 18th of December 2005).
